Handmade (but not by me, goodness no!) bookish-themed soaps made by bookish apothecary, a US women-owned small business. These soaps are so beautiful to see and feel, and smell even better. Each one is designed to match a specific tale - I selected these three because of the intense color and scent.
The Color Purple
“I think it pisses God off if you walk by the color purple in a field somewhere and don't notice it. People think pleasing God is all God cares about. But any fool living in the world can see it always trying to please us back.” ― Alice Walker, The Color Purple
Scent notes - Lilac, willow, bamboo, magnolia, and mandarin comprise this beautiful fragrance; refreshing and floral.
Twilight:
“Twilight, again. Another ending. No matter how perfect the day is, it always has to end.” ― Stephenie Meyer, Twilight
Scent notes - Teenage angst, sexy werewolves and sparkly vampires. Oh my! A blend of tart pomegranate, red currant, citrus, rosemary, geranium and cedar.
The Starling House:
“Starling House was no longer just a house. What had begun as stone and mortar had become something more, with ribs for rafters and stone for skin. It has no heart, but it feels; it has no brain, but it dreams.” ― Alix E. Harrow, Starling House
Scent notes - A blend of charred woods, amber, sandalwood, marshmallows, wisteria, brown sugar and a dash of vanilla.
